“Like if your funniest friend, your therapist, and a researcher who's interviewed 1,000+ leaders about making business better for all walked into a bar… and started a podcast.”

Unbehaved is where overachievers go to feel less alone. Real conversations with trailblazing leaders who decided to call bullshit on everything we've been taught about work, success, and life — revealing what it looks like to flourish, not just function.

Hosted by Meghan French Dunbar — author of This Isn't Working and narrative strategist who refuses to let you settle for fine — Unbehaved throws the old playbook out the window and helps you write a new one in its place.

You don’t need fixing.
The workplace does.

For years I assumed I was the one who couldn’t hack it. Then I spent a decade asking leaders like Eileen Fisher, Deepa Purushothaman, and Jane Wurwand how they actually did it — and the answer was never “try harder.”

Four ways to work together

01

Narrative strategy

Leadership teams

Most companies know they’re different. Very few can say how.

I find what’s most true and differentiated about how you work, then turn it into something your people can actually hold in their hands.

Typically 6–10 weeks  ·  interviews to delivered work

Start a conversation See the Torani case study
What that looks like
●Values, purpose, and core principles articulation
●Founding stories and key legacy narratives
●Research-backed white papers on your operating philosophy
●Decks, keynotes, and internal or external messaging
02

Keynotes

Conferences & companies

Talks that leave a room fired up and equipped.

Three I give most: Sustainable Leadership — the neuroscience of high-performance without burning out; Full-Spectrum Leadership — the skills modern leaders must have for the future; and Reimagining Success — moving from functioning to flourishing.

What that looks like
●Conference keynotes
●Corporate all-hands and leadership summits
●Fireside chats and moderated panels
●Custom talks built from your own research
03

Women’s ERGs

ERGs & networks

No panel on leaning in.

I bring the research behind This Isn’t Working, then make the room safe enough for people to say the real thing out loud.

Book a session
What that looks like
●Keynote plus facilitated Q&A
●Book club sessions for your group
●Multi-part series across a year
●Leadership circles and mentoring cohorts
04

Team offsites

Whole teams

For teams who are done talking around the thing.

Half-day, full-day, or multi-day, on-site or off-site retreats. A decade of hosting leaders taught me how to get a room past the surface fast.

Tell me about your team
What that looks like
●Half- and full-day workshops
●Multi-day team retreats
●Salon dinners and small-group conversations
●Custom facilitation for hard conversations

Looking for a retreat to attend rather than book? Those live over here.

The opportunity company

A 50-page white paper and an external-facing deck articulating their own philosophy: that creating opportunity for people drives stronger long-term performance. Stakeholder interviews, a full-day executive session, and language the whole company could actually use.

“Truly, this has been an invaluable process.”

The long way here

A young Meghan French Dunbar holding the first print issue of Conscious Company magazine
Vintage MFD buying the first ever issue of Conscious Company Magazine at Whole Foods
2014
Co-founded Conscious Company Media

29, an MBA, five months of publishing experience, and a lot of nerve. Our flagship magazine landed in every Whole Foods in the country with its first issue — and suddenly we were on the map.

'15–'17
Scaling & selling the company

A crash course in bootstrapping and leadership — interviews, keynotes, a name being made. And, behind the scenes, the slow grind of burnout. We sold the company in 2017.

'17–'20
Launched World-Changing Women

The largest US event series for impact-focused women leaders, reaching thousands of people. Loved the work; the overwhelm finally caught up. I stepped down as CEO in 2020.

'20–'22
Asking the question

I stepped down as CEO in 2020 and started chasing one question: why does work feel so brutal, especially for women? What began as curiosity turned into years of research and interviews.

'23–'24
Writing the book

Turning a decade of conversations with leaders into a manuscript — and finding out how much of my own story was in it.

2025
This Isn’t Working & Unbehaved

The book came out with Basic Venture/Hachette Book Group, and I kept conversations going by launching the Unbehaved podcast — honest conversations with people rewriting the rules of work and life.

2026
Narrative strategy + Reimagining success

Helping organizations uncover, articulate, and connect with their secret sauce — plus keynotes, ERG sessions, and the first Unbehaved retreats — all while trying to practice what I preach by building my work around my life instead of the other way around.
