More About That Crazy Journey
When I was 29 years old, filled to the brim with youthful exuberance, stupidity, and hope (as all good entrepreneurs typically are), I set out to launch a print magazine about purpose-driven business. Our intention was to create the next Fast Company Magazine, but where all the companies on our pages did something good for the world. After a failed kickstarter campaign followed by a relatively successful Indiegogo campaign, we somehow launched Conscious Company Magazine on January 1, 2015.
That first issue of our little magazine was picked up by every Whole Foods Market in the country, and suddenly we were on the map.
Following this, I navigated the full entrepreneur’s journey — we’re talking fundraising, building a team, diversifying revenue streams, completely burning myself out, losing sight of why I started the damn thing in the first place, feeling crushing stress and burnout, and eventually selling the company in December 2017.
After getting acquired, I stayed on as CEO. I decided to learn from all the mistakes I had previously made, double-down on my purpose work and, eureka! I finally found the sweet spot where I felt my professional life and my personal life were aligned. I stayed on as CEO until February 2020, when I made the decision to step down and follow my heart to explore my next step on my purpose journey (hint: it has a lot to do with what’s all over this website).
Since then, I’ve gone on to launch Womn Led, a community for purpose-driven business leaders, co-founder Stakeholder Business, which trains business leaders on how to transform their businesses through a stakeholder model, and work on my first book, This Isn’t Working, set to publish with Hachette Book Group in August 2025.
Just a few highlights from that crazy journey

Beyond my work
I am entirely incapable of taking myself too seriously.
Running around in nature with my family makes me the happiest.
Finding great food while traveling makes my heart sing (cheesecake in San Sebastian, Spain above)
